Mungo Park Music is an organisation which organises and promotes live acoustic music in Central Victoria and presents annually a number of acoustic concerts by touring artists from around the world at the home venue between Creswick and Daylesford. It also creates ongoing initiatives inspired by CresFest, the local folk and roots festival that Judy directs, including recording local 'roots' performers. Some of these events take place at our home in Newlyn, and otherwise at various great small venues close by.

       2024 CONCERTS

  •   internationally renowned legend of Irish music, Andy Irvine performed for the sell-out crowd of 70 at Mungo Park on a beautiful summer's evening. It was yet another amazing experience.

  • Incredible pairing of Judy Small and Ami Williamson, Australian icons both, one of a small number of gigs together, again sold out in a day.

Mungo Park Music concerts are held in the former tractor shed affectionately known as The Great Hall of the People, at Mungo Park, in Newlyn North, Victoria. Neil and Judy have renovated it as a great venue for music performances and recording, workshops of many sorts and other community events, and they love to welcome people to this part of their home. Intimate concerts (up to 60) and sessions segue seamlessly to create a warm and welcoming musical environment, where everyone is close to the musicians, and the concerts are acoustic and ‘unplugged’. As musicians themselves, they prefer to play to small crowds and completely acoustically, without PA, and that is what they now recreate for audiences at Mungo Park. Concerts are sporadic, and include music already known from friends and fellow folkies, as well as performers recommended to them. Crowds consist of many local people, but increasingly also include many who have come from further afield for the experience. The venue is about 90 minutes from Melbourne (on a bad day) and the area is highly attractive, 15 minutes from Daylesford with many opportunities for accommodation. Many audience members have booked into a B'nB and stayed locally.
